Hi there! My name is Paris Booker, founder of Joyful Journeys Tutoring. I hold a Bachelor's degree in English from Arizona State University. I am a mother of two children. In 2010, I started my journey in education as a paraprofessional. Since then, I have become a certified teacher in elementary education K-8 with endorsement in special education. I am currently in my 9th year of teaching.
For the last 4 school years, I have been providing after school tutoring at my schools. I also taught summer school for the last 3 summers as well. This year, I have decided to take my skills out of the traditional classroom by providing tutoring online.
As a previous kindergarten teacher and mother, I know how important it is for children to walk into their first school experience with confidence, curiosity, and a genuine love of learning. As a result, I have created a Kindergarten Confidence Accelerator program. I will be soft launching a 30-Day Introductory Course this April before opening my 12-week program on June 2nd.
Personalized Approach
I believe that every student is unique and requires a personalized approach. That's why I customize my lessons to meet the specific needs and learning style of each student.
Online Group Sessions
My online group model offers students access to an important aspect of school, socialization. The groups are small and allow for students to learn how to build confidence in speaking in a group, sharing ideas, as well as asking and answering questions without fear.

We Are Starting Where It All Begins: Kindergarten!
Although I have taught multiple grade levels over my 9 years of teaching, I have decided to start with a Kindergarten Confidence Program this spring and summer. My highest classroom overall growth came from my first kindergarten class who grew 1.5 grade levels in just 1 semester! They were testing at the middle of first grade level by the winter break in both reading and math. I utilized the proven small group system to create this Kindergarten Confidence Accelerator. Following the summer programs, we will be expanding our available subjects to more than just Kindergarten preparation.

I will help 4-5-year-old students master the exact skills needed to thrive in kindergarten, so they can enter confident, prepared, and ahead of the curve, ready to excel in early academics and social interactions. A strong start in kindergarten builds the foundation for lifelong learning, ensuring they don’t struggle to keep up or feel overwhelmed in their first year of school.
This April, we will be soft launching an Introduction to our 12 Week summer program: The Kindergarten Confidence Accelerator. Our 30-Day Introduction Course will act as a preview into the full program which will start on June 2nd.

Pre-Assessment Benefit
I provide an in-depth pre-assessment for every student I have. The results are then used to create an individualized tutoring plan to foster the necessary growth for Kindergarten Confidence, academic readiness, and social engagement.

- 2 Live Lessons on Zoom Each Week: These personalized lessons allow your child to interact directly with me, the tutor and other peers. We’ll cover multiple key concepts, provide extra practice, and address any specific questions they may have—all from the comfort of home. Two 30 minute sessions weekly.
- 1-on-1 Assessment and Review Sessions: These individual sessions are designed to evaluate your child’s progress, identify areas of improvement, and ensure they’re on track to go into kindergarten prepared and confident. It’s like having a personal coach, dedicated to your child’s success.
